Adri's Braaiday Custard

Ingredients

2 and a 1/2 cups whole milk
A Cinnamon stick
2-3 tablespoons sugar
4 large egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons liquor of preference (Jerez, Port, Brandy or any white dry dessert wine)
1. Heat whole milk with cinnamon stick on saucepan over medium heat just until heated through--but be careful not to let it boil.

1. Whisk 1/2 cup of milk with sugar, cornstarch, and salt in medium bowl; whisk in egg yolks.

2. Gradually add yolk mixture to hot milk and whisk until blended. Stir with a wooden spoon over medium heat in a eight shape until custard thickens (Test by lifting the spoon out of the custard and drawing a finger through the mixture on the spoon: if it leaves a clear line, the sauce is ready.)

Note: Do not let it boil or the custard will curdle.

3. Whisk in the 2 tablespoons brandy. Remove from heat.
